Advanced IOL Technology — RxSight

The Light
Adjustable Lens
(LAL)

Fine-tuned after surgery. The Light Adjustable Lens by RxSight is the only intraocular lens that can be adjusted after cataract surgery — using UV light, not further surgery.

Why LAL is Different

Standard IOLs are selected based on pre-surgery measurements. The LAL is adjusted after your eye has healed, based on your actual vision — giving your surgeon the ability to optimize for a result that's tailored precisely to you.

The Process

How the LAL
Works

01

Cataract Surgery

The LAL is implanted during routine cataract surgery, replacing your cloudy natural lens. The procedure is identical to standard cataract surgery.

02

Healing Period

Over the next 2–4 weeks, your eye heals and stabilizes. You'll wear UV-protective glasses during this time to preserve the lens's adjustability.

03

Light Treatment (LDD)

Using the RxSight Light Delivery Device (LDD), your surgeon applies UV light in a series of brief, painless office visits to reshape the lens and fine-tune your vision.

04

Lock-In Treatment

Once you and your surgeon are satisfied with your vision, a final lock-in treatment is applied to permanently set the lens in its optimized position.
